TENDER
The group start of all three distances of the Istria Cycling Marathon will take place on October 13, 2024 at 10:00 a.m. in Ankaran. For safety reasons, the participants of the short route will start last and separately, but immediately after the other participants. To participate, you must register in advance and pay the entry fee. Pick up your race number at the registration desk before the start of the route and attach it to your bike so that it is clearly visible.
Start numbers can be collected on Saturday afternoon or on Sunday before the start of the marathon at the registration desk at the main event venue in Lucija. The race number will also be used to collect a gift bag on arrival at the finish line and for the prize draw at the main event venue. Pre-registered participants must have their receipt for the entry fee with them when collecting their race number. The gift bag will be collected on arrival at the finish line at the main event location.
The marathon is open to anyone who has the right to ride a bicycle independently on the road. This includes children aged 8 and over who have a bicycle card and people aged 14 and over. Children aged 6 to 8 and children under 14 who have not passed a cycling test may only ride a bicycle on the road if accompanied by an adult. Children under the age of 6 may only ride their bikes on sidewalks or in traffic-calmed areas, which also applies to the mini-marathon route. Participants under the age of 16 may only take part in the marathon with the written consent or in the company of their parents.
There will be a closure until about kilometer 4. After that, the route will be reopened. If the organizer deems it necessary for the safe execution of the ride due to developments, he may reintroduce the closure on individual sections. The start of the ride will be indicated by an appropriately marked escort vehicle. A participant who overtakes a vehicle marked "Start of the marathon" or is overtaken by a vehicle marked "End of the marathon" is considered a normal road user and the organizer is no longer responsible for directing and informing them.
Participants are obliged to abide by the traffic regulations and ride at their own risk. Wearing a safety helmet is mandatory. The organizer is not liable for damage to material or persons. The declaration of assumption of liability is part of the general conditions to which the participant must agree when registering for the marathon. It is important to note that participants can do the most for their own safety by riding sensibly and tolerantly and taking extra care on dangerous sections of the route. Despite the organizer's maximum commitment to providing safety measures and the safest possible riding conditions, some reckless and inattentive drivers on the road can be expected to endanger the safety of participants in the event.
Some sections are narrow or require sharp bends, so special care and attention is required. There will be snacks and drinks for all participants at the refreshment stations along the route and a hot meal at the finish. The organizer will also provide gift bags for pre-registered participants. If a large number of participants register on the day of the event, those who have pre-registered will be given priority in the allocation of starter packs. Therefore, we do not necessarily provide starter packs to those who register on the day of the event.
We urge you to respect nature and the unspoiled environment. Therefore, do not throw away the packaging of snacks and drinks on the way, but keep it until your stop or the end of the trip, where it can be disposed of in the bins provided. Registered participants are not entitled to a refund of the registration fee if they do not take part in the event due to bad weather. The event will take place in all weather conditions.
The event is organized by the Raketa Cycling Association, Cesta Zora Perello Godina 3, 6000 Koper.
